Only war pigs have the power y'know
Sunday 14th June
The Lost Boys - Kiefer Sutherland is a vampire. Do you need to know any more? Entertaining film that's alot like Gremlins in style. Takes a while to get going and not the most in depth plot but brings goodness to the table.
Smokey And The Bandit - A really good film. Shocking since in films nowadays car chases tend to suck. Likeable characters, good humour, and Burt Reynolds is just cool here. Did make me wanna drive fast though.
Surf's Up - Not up to scratch with the best cgi animated offerings but does have it's moments. Nothing spectacular (besides the water graphics which are very pretty but that shouldn't be the selling point of a film) and more of a family film than a standout on it's own.
Monday 15th June
Gran Torino - Clint Eastwood, he's an angry old man who doesn't like you. The story is a bit thin, but how they execute it is well done with Eastwood just being an awesome gruff hardass. Rest of the cast don't really do much of note but he carries it well. Though they went for the cheap shock tactic that writers seem to love alas.
Tuesday 16th June
Cars - Disapointing from Pixar, it's the fish out of water storyline again which is fine normally but this film just doesn't have the charm to carry it. Didn't really enjoy this until about an hour in and then it managed some good moments with a fine emotional climax (though a bit predictable) but not something I'd really bother to watch again.
Took effort to remember all those yar
